23-24SMSCreativity with Legos: Students will use a Lego globe to show an understanding of spatial awareness by constructing the globe with continents to represent spatial patterns and environmental characteristics of a region.  Students will also use Egyptian Pyramid Legos to compare similarities and differences between ancient civilization cultures.
23-24K-12Bioblitz and Outdoor classroom lesson: SPS will host its first ever ‘Bioblitz’ nature day for students in the 2nd, 5th, 7th, and 10th grades and the McLean Outdoor Educational Preserve.  Over 600 students will make their way through an immersive series of stations based on either habitat or activity/presentation, learning from experts and enthusiasts about the diversity of life existing in their own backyard, how these ecosystems function, and age appropriate content that aligns with various subject.
